In the breweries in the Augsburger Land region, various regional beers and specialities are created with much love and care, which are well worth trying. From classic beers, brewed strictly according to the purity law, to unusual craft beers of various flavours, everything is there.

Schwarzbräu is a fifth-generation family brewery that is also widely known beyond the region. With over 700 awards, it is one of the most awarded breweries in Germany. If you want to get an insight into the art of brewing and the production of beer yourself, you can learn everything about beer and production on a guided tour. The special thing: Schwarzbräu is one of the last breweries in Germany to have its own malt house.In addition, the Bräustüberl offers a tasting of the various beers while enjoying a good meal.

Now in its 14th generation, beer has been produced in Ustersbach, in the middle of the Augsburg-Westliche Wälder nature park, since 1605. Of course, the beer is brewed traditionally according to the Bavarian Purity Law using regional raw materials. The beers produced can be tasted directly in the Bräustüble on site.

Regional beer is already being brewed in Gessertshausen in the fourth generation. When Thomas Schimpfle took over the brewery at the age of 22, he developed his own beer brand - the "Lösch-Zwerg". The greatest speciality at the Schimpfle brewery is in the beer itself: the craft brewing process, the so-called open vat fermentation.

Beer has been brewed in Königsbrunn since 2018. KöBi Biermanufaktur attaches great importance to sustainability, future viability and innovation. Most of the malting barley used is grown on the company's own fields and processed with solar power. Each beer also bears a special and partly local name.

In the small brewery in Kutzenhausen, regional beer is brewed with great care. Distribution runs exclusively through the brewery's own delivery service and the beer is delivered directly to the customer's home.

Brewery Rapp
Already in the eighth generation, since 1846, beer is brewed in the Schorer family brewery. Strictly according to the purity law, only water, hops, malt and yeast are used and finally brewed according to the old family recipe.

Staudenbräu
A very small brewery that has been producing handmade organic beer since 2011. All ingredients are sourced from the surrounding region.

The private brewery was founded in 1662. The brewery in the heart of the Holzwinkel no longer operates, but the beers are brewed according to the original recipe by the Härtsfeld family brewery. The only place to try Schaller beer is therefore at the Bräustüble Bonstetten.

The quality assurance of Augsburg beer was documented almost 400 years before the Bavarian Purity Law (1516).

As early as 1156, a uniform regulation on the beer quality of Augsburg beer was issued.

To this day, the numerous breweries in the region adhere to the precept and brew delicious and unusual types of beer according to old craftsmanship.
