Bavarian-Swabian baroque pearls

In the foothills of the Alps, starting from Augsburg and Wessobrunn, the southern German Baroque had its origins and flourished. Magnificent examples of Bavarian-Swabian Baroque culture are strung together like a string of pearls on our tour in the northern part of the Augsburg-Westliche Wälder Nature Park: Hirblingen, Gablingen, Biberbach, Herbertshofen, Holzen Monastery and Thierhaupten. It's not just the architecture that radiates baroque, but also the everyday culture. All you need to experience it is time, leisure and an open mind. It is not for nothing that the "Romantic Road" for cyclists runs largely along the same route in the wide, sunny Lech and Schmutter valleys.

at the beginning of May when the dandelions are in bloom; the daylily field near Langweid only blooms in early June
