Museum about the siege of Augsburg in 955 and its consequences.
Beschreibung
The information and presentation pavilion "955" in Königsbrunn provides information in three large dioramas with thousands of hand-painted tin figures and state-of-the-art museum technology on the siege of Augsburg, the defeat of the Hungarian cavalry armies on the Lech River and the significance of the epochal event for Hungary and Europe.
The aim of the museum is to illustrate the siege of Augsburg in 955 and to make the consequences of the battle on the Lechfeld understandable for German, Hungarian and European history. In addition to the military-political aspect of the Battle of the Lechfeld, the focus is on the question of how German-Hungarian relations developed in the centuries following the Battle of the Lechfeld.
