The church "Mary, Protection of Travellers" at the motorway exit near Adelsried on the A8 between Munich and Stuttgart was Germany's first motorway church in 1958.
The gable fronts of this church are largely made of glass. Its roof is a concrete skeleton construction. The architect, Raimund Freiherr von Dobl hoff, had previously planned the reconstruction of Augsburg's Fuggerei, destroyed in 1944.
