The evidence of the oldest settlement in the Emersacker area is the Celtic entrenchment, which is located in the forest section "Stutzenberg" north of Emersacker. The Celts had built a square castle here in the last century before Christ. The remains of two raised ramparts and ditches are clearly visible on site.
