The hydropower station on the Lech Canal in Meitingen has been generating hydroelectricity since 1922. Original generators from the construction period are still in operation at the Meitingen power station. The Meitingen hydroelectric power station is the northernmost station of the UNESCO World Heritage "Augsburg Water Management System".
