The Theklakirche in Welden is considered the most important church building in today's district of Augsburg. Count Joseph Maria Fugger vowed to build the rococo jewel on the Theklaberg high above the village, which was consecrated in 1758.
The light-flooded sacred building planned by the well-known Swabian master builder Hans Adam Dossenberger is today a monastery church of the Carmelite Order.
