Beschreibung
Circular trail "Zum Stuhlenberg":Â
From the pavilion towards the east, this route first takes us along the Leiergraben. For a short distance, we walk through a beautiful old beech stand rich in structure and deadwood before we reach a snack area and follow the signpost into the fields. Passing small parcelled meadows and fields interspersed with copses, we reach the ridge, the Galgenberg. An impressive view to the south reveals the uniqueness of this stretch of land; at a retro resting bench you can enjoy the diversity and beauty of our Central Swabian landscape. Continue along the high ridge in a westerly direction on a direct path through the forest to Stuhlenburg Castle. This second refuge - significant for the settlement of Eppishofen - was once designed as a high mound. Via earth paths in the shady forest, we approach the village of Eppishofen from the south. After the last ascent along the terraced meadow, we cross a small copse. This last section of the trail opens up views to the west and north into our beautiful Zusam valley at numerous points. Along the former "Hihla" we return to the pavilion via the Johanneskapelle.
